Today is Flag Day! On May 30, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a presidential proclamation declaring that June 14 be celebrated as the official Flag Day. Saluting the flag is a way to celebrate and honor the United States of America. Children at Kids Kare Schools say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning with their hands over their heart. The “little Americans” learn to sing, pledge, and pay respect to the flag, "Old Glory," as a symbol of the country's democracy and independence. Wherever the stars and stripes, blue red and white flag flies, we are reminded of America's unity and in the great cause of liberty and justice for all. |
