We are having fun with reptiles this week with Vicky and Johnny. They have been visiting the schools with their scaly friends, and delighting the children with some up close viewing of these fascinating creatures.

The children’s eyes lit up when they brought out the leopard gecko, as Vicky talked about the gecko being a nocturnal animal and its distinctive features that separates him from other geckos. You could see the children were listening with great intent. They were even more excited when Johnny walked around with the bearded dragon, as he showed the children the bearded dragon’s spikes that run down the side of his body, and explained why he is called a bearded dragon the children’s mind filled with questions. After answering there questions and listening to some stories Vicky and Johnny went in to the art room and brought out the highlight of there show, a six and an half feet long redtail boa. The children anticipation was fulfilled as they put their finger to the glass and watched the snake follow it around. Watching the graceful snake climb up and around the window of the art room is fascinating at any age.

It was a wonderful experience for every one, and we hope to have them return to do a show for the preschoolers.
