The kids learned about the quest that Christopher Columbus took from Spain in an attempt to prove that the world was round and that he accidentally found a new land. The children painted with ocean colors and searched for new lands themselves with their own telescopes.
The children learned all about investigations this week as we conducted our rock study. They sorted and graphed rocks by size, color, and even texture. They also learned about sand and that it is made up of teeny, tiny crushed up rocks. They also experimented with a new type of play dough which looks like rocks and made with coffee grounds, which made it smell really good! |
