Interesting owl fact - The owl is a silent flyer, which means that his wings do not make a sound when they fly.  Another interesting word your children heard this week was "nocturnal", which means that owls sleep during the day and stay awake at night.  These are just a couple of the many facts the kids were taught this week as we learned about the owl.  The kids truly enjoyed investigating the feathers during math and science, painting with them during art and practicing their silent flying at recess.  And if you look around the classrooms, you will see a few cute handprint owls hanging around on the walls too!
