We had a couple of apples to experiment with. Apples in different colors and sizes. We did our research on our apples and determined the weight of each one. Then we voted on either if the apple would float or sink. Majority of us voted for the apple to sink. Once we tallied up the votes, we then did the experiment. We got a pitcher of water and we dropped an apple. To our suprise each apple, didn't matter what color or size had stayed upfloat. The kids were so amazed and shocked at the outcome. We then explained to them that apples have air in them which causes them to float. Our kids love science! |
