Time to Learn About Water Safety

Each school had a special guest speaker that spoke to the children about the differences between good, safe water and bad, dangerous water.  The children learned that even when playing in water that was good the most important thing that could keep them safe was to have a grown up watching them while they played in even the smallest amount of water.  The children also learned that even though safety devices, such as life jackets and arm floaties, are a big help in allowing them to have fun that they cannot take the place of a mommy, daddy or other grown up who is playing with them and actively watching them around.  With the summer heat just getting ready to start, take this opportunity to talk to your kids about what they now know about being safe in and around the water.
