It's Turkey Time!! Our gradeschool kids enjoyed the holiday with some fun games, including a new tradition here at Kids Kare - the Turkey Trot. There was a lot of competition with these relay type games but all the kids had a blast. Our preschool kids learned about the first Thanksgiving and some of the yummy foods that are enjoyed around this time of year. We also explored how our taste buds work to taste those different types of foods (salty, sweet, sour, bitter). We focused mostly on sharing, working together and giving back by to our community. We finished up our month long lesson with the story "Stone Soup" by working together to create our own delicious soup to share with our friends. We talked about all the things that we have to be thankful for and how we can help those less fortunate, not just around the holidays, but all year long. We are still collecting canned food and non perishable goods for our Food Drive!! If you can, feel free to drop some stuff off to feel those boxes!!
